B1 Soccer Academy discovered its opponents for the upcoming 2020 MIC Tournament in which teams shall participate, in the A1 (u19), A2 (u18) and Femenino (u19) categories. Once again, B1 Soccer Academy will participate in the new edition of MIC. This year with special appreciation, as the famous one celebrates its 20th anniversary. We are privileged!
For the third consecutive year, B1 is participating in MIC. The first year we could only form one team, last year we participated with an A1 and B1 team and also with a female team. And this year we repeat with 3 teams.
“We feel very proud of making women’s football grow and betting on the future of football. Last year was a very nice experience for all the participants and we are sure that this year we will enjoy it just as much or even more.”
Didac Rodriguez, one of the architects of this team, has been very positive and eager to see the B1 women’s team again.
Live Draw
As every year, the organization of MIC has made the draw live and in rigorous direct through its Youtube channel.
The people in charge of presenting the groups were the Global Project Manager, Sebas Vega and the Project Manager, Albert Bori. Unlike other years, in this edition the draw was made for all the teams and categories.
“Nerves, but also a great desire to meet our rivals. We are aware that the players want to play against the best teams and live a unique experience.”
For the team competing in the A1 category, which shall be coached by Didi Rodriguez and Marc Fortuny; B1 shall be in Group B along with Atletico Lusaka from Zambia, Catalan Local team Juventus Academy Lloret playing in the Juvenil Second Division, and will also face Extravagantes FC, who controversially eliminated B1 during last year’s tournament.
In the A2 category, B1 Soccer Academy will be up against Villarreal CF’s youth team, Japanese side Renofa Yamaguchi CF, and Club Deportivo Julian Vazquez from Cali, Colombia. The coaches in charge of leading the B1 team will be Giancarlo Coletta and Eric Bertran.
“This is a new category for our academy. Some of our players who competed last year as U16 this year are moving up to this category and are looking forward to starting the competition. It is a complicated group but we are very excited.”
Giancarlo Coletta is cautious and aware of the potential of rival teams. The competition is characterised by these clashes, by beautiful short and intense matches where there are often surprises.
Finally, B1 Soccer Academy’s Femenino team will be facing Valencia CF’s youth team, CEFF Copiapo from Chile and the Andorran Under 18 girls national team, FAF.
Last year, the team led by Marina Schachowskoj and Rosie Mendez faced the Japanese Federation, Inter Milan and the local Palautordera CF team.
In the quarterfinals, the team was defeated by the current tournament champion, RCD Espanyol. And this year we have a new challenge. Marina will be in charge of the B1 Girls again and we are sure that we will give a lot to talk about again.
We are really looking forward to the start of the big tournament in Lloret de Mar, and keep preparing for it day by day!
