Yesterday, the B1 Players played the last preparation match before the Christmas break, this time against the youth CD Almeda de Cornellà.
A new match and a new challenge. The boys of the academy arrived undefeated after 3 friendly matches that had faced CB Terlenka of El Prat del Llobregat, CFA Espluguenc of Espluges del Llobregat and FC Santboià. And this match could not be different.
Didi Rodriguez, coach and General Manager of B1 proposed the match to finish testing for the new incorporations of January and also to continue preparing the MIC2019 to be held in April.
Rodriguez commented that “we must be able to adapt to different teams and game systems. Adapting to all situations, so facing teams of different categories will help us to improve. And that’s how the boys are doing it.”
Some novelties in the line-up and a farewell match for two of our boys who return to their countries to continue, for the moment, with their sports development. Our captain Yanick Potvin returns to Canada and Moddy returns to Australia to continue his training to return next July.
Playing soccer
Rigorous match and high intensity in which B1 was the clear dominator of the game, although the CD Almeda was well organized in middle block and taking advantage of some errors in the initiation zone to try to surprise Rodriguez’s players.
Complicated first few minutes with chances for both teams. Although in the 20th minute and after an error in the defense of the home team, Swiss striker Adrian used his speed to steal the ball in three-quarters of the field and faces the goalkeeper to score the first goal of the game. That’s how the half was reached.
Already in the second half, and just minutes from the referee’s whistle, Adrian was able to measure himself by speed, again, to the central defenders of CD Almeda and managed to score his second goal.
Despite the score against them, the local players never gave up and stood up to the end. So much so, that after a shot from outside the area managed to get back into the game by raising the scoreboard 1 to 2.
And in the final minutes of the game, the strategy paid off for B1 Soccer Academy and thanks to a masterful free-kick from Moddy, which the goalkeeper rejected, caused Miraash, very attentive to the play, to sign the final 1-3.
A very good balance in these 4 unbeaten matches, which shows the good work done by the B1Players that are improving every day.
We wish you good holidays and see you back from Xmas with new games!
