Last Wednesday, February 27, the #B1Players returned to play a new friendly match, this time in front of the Youth First Division of the CE Vila Olímpica.
The match was held in the facilities of Clot de la Mel and Didi Rodriguez’s team had two new faces, the Spanish players Gerard Ruiz and Nil Emeterio. Two reinforcements needed after last-minute injuries to Kumar Lokesh and Adrian Ringele, our goalscorer.
The team was very concentrated and dominated the game from the start. High pressure that caused the first chance of young Canadian striker, Duncan Bates in the second minute.
With the passing of the minutes, the game in the center of the field began to take prominence resulting in some passes between the lines by both teams. And the subsequent occasions.
Although the opportunities were widely spread, the intensity of the B1 team allowed to filter some good passes, until one of them came to Owen who, after a good control, scored the first goal on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute.
Opportunities followed one another and the CE Vila Olímpica managed a draw just 10 minutes later. But B1’s response was not long in coming and Gerard Ruiz again overtook Didi Rodriguez‘s in the 37th minute. With 1 to 2 on the scoreboard came the break.
In the second half Agus, John and Kenni entered the field to give freshness to the team. With the changes of the players, a new game system. And it worked.
In minute 52 and after a midfield loss, Gerard Ruiz got rid of the defense to score his second goal and put the 1 to 3 on the scoreboard. But the good game of the Catalan would not end here.
Only 2 minutes later and after a long ball by Nil Emeterio, Ruiz beat the goalkeeper again, surpassing him with a nice “vaseline”.
Gerard Ruiz debuts with B1 Team and 3 goals. Good start!
Comfortable scoreboard that allowed Rodriguez to make some modifications in the 11 to test adverse match situations. Almost at the end of the match, when there were only 6 minutes left to the end, the CE Vila Olímpica managed to add its second goal for the final 2 to 4.
Good sensations for the MIC2019
The team is still preparing to face in the best possible way the MIC Football 2019 tournament that arrives next April. Improve technical aspects, refine tactical aspects and know some variations that can make the difference in a tournament that proposes days of intense football.
“We are working a lot on the pressure after the loss of the ball. It’s very important to have clear concepts. MIC is a very demanding tournament, with very short and intense matches. And we’re on the right track.”
The B1Players are very excited about the arrival of the tournament, as well as to meet the new members that will form the 3 teams that B1 Soccer Academy is forming for this important tournament.
If last year B1 Soccer Academy participated with a youth team, this year we will do it with 3 teams. The youth team, a cadet team, and the great novelty, a women’s team.
Adrian’s last match
Despite the 2-4 victory over the Juvenil de la CE Vila Olímpica and a winning streak that already adds up to 5, today’s match has left us with a bittersweet taste. This match was the last match of our Swiss goal scorer, Adrian Ringele.
Adrian has spent the last three months as our benchmark in the forwards and has scored 8 goals. A real physical wonder. Forward-center powerful and very fast. He has delighted us with goals of all kinds. With the right, the left, and head. An enviable repertoire. We’ll miss you, but we’ll see you in May!
